HT-Z Giant Schnauzer Rescue was founded by Carolyn Janak in 2000 in memory of Hertha Thomas-Zagari, who was an avid Giant Fancier. We are a 501 C 3 organization, and a Giant Schnauzer Rescue that serves all 50 States.
HT-Z Giant Schnauzer Rescue will consider adoptive families in the continental United States and Canada. This is simply due to logistics and distance of travel for our volunteers. Our goal is to make the best rescue match taking into consideration the Dog's background and your family's needs. Every Giant is different: personality, temperament, energy, comfort with children and other animals, medical needs, and more. We take all these factors into consideration when making a furever-home match. We are very careful about the placements we make. We do our best to match the right Giant with the right adoptive home because we want this to be the pet's permanent home.
We adopted Chloe when she was 8 years old, about 4 years ago. GLWR made sure we got the perfect fit for our family. She is now 12 and honestly the best dog I have ever had (don't tell my first Weim)! They were honest, efficient, and really care about the dogs. Keep up the great work!
